India was brought to a local Petsmart by a family that had taken her from a man that was beating her with a stick to get her to run into traffic.  They were unable to keep her but could not leave her there.  They realized after they took her that she had a leg injury and could not provide her with the vet care that she would need.  One of our foster parents seen her and offered to help, knowing that she needed to get help for her leg right away.   We were able to get her into a vet quickly and she was spayed, HW tested- neg., vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated.  Her approx. DOB is  5/10/2010.  UPDATE:  India will need the leg removed as she is in pain and it has already caused her to have arthritis in the shoulder.  The break was very bad and is to old so she is left without many options, if she is to have a life free from pain and suffering.  Considering the life she has had at this point, we feel that such a loving, trusting animals deserves that chance. She is scheduled for surgery on 2/21/2011 and will be in need of a special home once she is fully recovered. UPDATE: India is recovering very well from her surgery.   We would prefer that India find a home without cats.  As the picture shows she is ok with cats but she does like to give chase if they run.
